Somhatai Panichewa currently chairs the Investment Board of Amata Corporation PCL. Amata Corporation is SET’s largest listed Thai Conglomerate in the industrial estate sector.
Ms Somhatai has earned her industry reputation in her role as President of Amata (Vietnam) Joint Stock Company and CEO of Amata VN Public Company Limited and Amata Asia Limited (Hong Kong). Ms Somhatai has successfully leveraged on Amata Corporation PCL’s track record in Thailand and established Amata’s first overseas integrated industrial estate of 700 hectares in Bien Hoa City, Vietnam. Currently, Amata City Bien Hoa has attracted key multinational corporations of total investment of well over US$1.5billion into Amata Vietnam and a total workforce of more than 25,000.
She is also very passionate and active in her social work contributions. She contributes her expertise and time as the Vice Chairman of Amata Foundation, Director of Education Alumni, Chulalongkorn University, Chairperson of Committee and Sport Affairs, Sasin Alumni Association, Chairperson of Thai-Vietnam Business Council and Vice President of Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association.
Mrs Somhatai has a Bachelor degree in Education at Chulalongkorn University and
Master of Management from Sasin Graduate Institute of Business. She is married to Mr. Chartchai Panichewa and has two sons & one daughter.
Bà Somhatai có vai trò quan trọng trong việc thành lập khu công nghiệp tích hợp đầu tiên của Amata ở nước ngoài, rộng 700 hec-ta tại Biên Hòa, Việt Nam. Hiện tại, Amata City Biên Hòa đã thu hút nhiều tập đoàn đa quốc gia lớn, với tổng đầu tư hơn US$1,5 tỉ USD vào Amata Vietnam và sử dụng nhân lực hơn 25 ngàn người. Bà còn nắm vai trò điều hành tại các công ty như Amata Power Co., Ltd, Amata Holding Co. Ltd., Chewathai Ltd., và Global Environmental Technology Co., Ltd (GETCO).
Bà là người tích cực trong các hoạt động xã hội. Hiện bà là phó chủ tịch quỹ Amata, giám đốc Education Alumni ĐH Chulalongkorn, chủ tịch hội đồng Kinh doanh Thái Lan – Việt Nam, Phó chủ tịch hiệp hội hữu nghị Thái Lan – Việt Nam. Bà tốt nghiệp cử nhân ngành giáo dục tại ĐH Chulalongkorn và thạc sĩ quản trị của Sasin Graduate Institute of Business.
Bà lập gia đình với ông Chartchai Panichewa, có 2 con trai và 1 con gái.
